The Production of Styrodur for the Italian market will continue at the BASF plant in Bibbiano.
Safeguarding the skills and professionalism of manpower, Styrodur will be marketed directly from FI · VE with a specialized sales force
Bibbiano, 1st July 2016 – Regarding the strengthening of the leadership of the production in the insulation business, the italian company FI · VE in Vittorio Veneto (TV) bought from BASF the facility in Bibbiano (RE) where Styrodur is manufactured.
For 50 years, thanks to its technical advantages, Styrodur has been used in Italy by generations of designers, architects, craftsmen, builders and building materials suppliers. The production of Styrodur will continue, under BASF’s license, at the same plant in Bibbiano, safeguarding the skills and professionalism of existing labor.
The sale will be managed by FI VE with a specialized sales network, guaranteed by a proven service. From July 1st, 2016, customers will then be able to purchase Styrodur from the manufacturer without having to go for distribution companies with many advantages.
With this acquisition – an atypical investment with what is happening in Italy, where there are many companies selling equipment and brands abroad – FI VE Group, with plants in Bibbiano (RE), Vittorio Veneto (TV), Loria (TV ), Roncà (VR), Nyirad (Hungary), Gilly Sur Isere and Saint Germain s. Moine (France), Kaniza (Serbia) becomes one of the most important European references in the field of thermal insulation.
FI VE is 100% controlled by IWIS, an Italian company that groups several companies in the construction products market, and has 16 manufacturing facilities in Europe and a global sales and technical support network.

BASF has decided to focus on Styrodur’s business in the markets of central and northern Europe. For italy BASF chose to find a solid partner to entrust the production plant and marketing of Styrodur. “We believe FI VE is the right partner for Styrodur. With a strong focus on the Italian market and with a lean and dynamic FI · VE structure, it will be able to guarantee the continuity and development of Styrodur in the coming years, “commented Giorgio Greening, Senior Vice President of BASF’s PM division.

The development plans that FI VE presented will, in our view, allow us to ensure the industrial presence of the site over the next few years, while respecting the rigid environmental standards, “said Filippo Di Quattro, Operations Director of BASF Italia.
